⦿ Discover the largest island in the Seychelles archipelago with a full-day journey around Mahé, home to the capital, Port Victoria.  The tour begins at Le Jardin du Roi, a historic plantation and spice garden that offers a glimpse into Seychelles’ agricultural heritage. Surrounded by lush greenery, you’ll wander among vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, citronella, and other aromatic plants whilst learning about the island’s spice trade at the small museum. This peaceful haven is a delight for botanists and nature lovers, with rare tropical species and giant tortoises adding to the charm.

⦿ From there, continue to the Domaine de Val des Prés, where traditional Creole architecture sets the scene for a vibrant craft village. Stroll through charming thatched-roof huts filled with handmade treasures ranging from colourful textiles to intricate jewellery and wood carvings. Meeting the local artisans gives you the chance to connect with the island’s creative spirit and discover meaningful souvenirs.

⦿ Your journey then takes you to La Plaine St. André, home of the Takamaka Rum Distillery. More than a distillery, this iconic estate is steeped in history, with its medicinal garden, restored ruins, and a small museum telling the story of Seychelles’ past. The property is also home to two giant Aldabra tortoises, Taka and Maka, who are always a favourite with visitors. After learning about the rum-making process, enjoy a tasting of the island’s signature spirit.

⦿ The day ends at Anse Royale, one of Mahé’s most beloved beaches. Stretching across a series of sheltered bays, it’s the perfect spot to relax, swim, snorkel, or simply enjoy the views of turquoise waters and soft sand. Local restaurants are available nearby for those who wish to sample fresh island cuisine at their own expense. After some time to unwind by the sea, you’ll return comfortably to the cruise port.
