Miami to New York

People-watchers will enjoy South Beach’s Ocean Drive, while architecture buffs will love the Art Deco District. If you’re looking for something a bit different, there are world-class museums and shopping venues too. In Miami, there really is something for everyone.

Distinguished by its colorful Dutch colonial architecture, Oranjestad is the capital of Aruba, first settled in 1796. Named as a tribute to the Dutch king William of Orange, the city today attracts tourists searching for duty-free bargains and strolling around the beautiful streets.

St. Thomas is the gateway isle of the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It’s known for its beaches and snorkeling spots. Territorial capital Charlotte Amalie, founded by the Danish in the 1600s, is a busy cruise-ship port. Historic buildings include a 1679 watchtower called Blackbeard’s Castle, in reference to the area’s pirate history. On the harbor, 17th-century Fort Christian is now a local-history museum.

At this 250-acre paradise in the Berry Islands chain, you can dance to a local band in front of the bandstand or relax in a private beachfront cabana. Hike along a trail to the old lighthouse or splash around the Aqua Park. Go swimming, snorkeling or kayaking. Play a rousing game of volleyball with your shipmates.

Venture to the expansive sand beaches of Cocoa Beach or explore the Kennedy Space Center at nearby Cape Canaveral. Orlando is a little over an hour away, and the Disney, Sea World and Universal Studios theme parks beckon. Or take a stroll around Lake Eola and enjoy the boutiques and restaurants of downtown Orlando.

Admire the churches and old homes in the Ghent Historic District, immerse yourself in the impressive Chrysler Museum of Art, or meander through the shaded grounds of the Norfolk Botanical Garden. View the exhibits in Nauticus, a maritime science museum, and walk the decks of the battleship USS Wisconsin.
